Fundraising

Our purpose is to identify creative ways of helping Iraqis help themselves to lead productive and satisfying lives.  Developing human potential through education and protecting human well-being through the channel of medicine are the chief means by which KF Iraq pursues this aim.  We keep abreast of the security situation in Iraq through our contacts across the country and we take a flexible and innovative approach to deal with the constantly changing circumstances.

We strive to inspire hope of a better future for all Iraqis regardless of religion, ethnicity or social background.  After decades of destruction and the suppression of civil society in Iraq, we endeavour to accelerate social development by offering direct educational and medical support to Iraqis and by backing the training of key Iraqi professionals.  Our primary focus is to ensure that our support reaches the maximum number of people and has long-term results.

As an Iraqi-run organisation, KF Iraq has the advantage of local knowledge and a network of contacts.  Due to our personal links to the country, we have a strong sense of responsibility towards the Iraqi people and a very personal interest in improving their future.  At the same time, we are conscious of the potential benefits of working with other charities and NGOs and have, in the past, collaborated with such organisations as Medicins Sans Frontieres and the British Council
